Scrolls of Madness
The vile Scrolls of Madness are legendary documents chronicling the worship of the Primal Gods. Originally inscribed on scrolls of thin, indestructible metal, the originals were found by the mad Blood Elf sorcerer Amrathgar Nightsoul on one of the infinite planes, hidden in ancient crumbling ruins of unknown origin, and translated into an evil text that corrupts all who read it. Amrathgar was imprisoned by the Blood Elven Empress Kalistraya VII and the originals cast into the great volcano of Doomforge. Though Amrathgar died in screaming insanity, babbling of what he had seen in the vast darkness of Chaos through the power of the Scrolls, the power of his work still lives on. Despite the efforts of the Dark Gods, Gods of Light, and Jhamun, the Scrolls still manage to resurface time and time again. Each time it has been in the hands of the insane, driven to seek power and committed to unchaining the Mad Gods. This has led to much bloodshed and slaughter, and is one of the few things that still can cause a semblance of unity among the gods, who are committed to wiping out the worship of the Primal Gods.
